TY - JOUR TI - Teachers’ Perceptions on Causes of Organizational Dissent AB - Organizational dissent constitutes the base of democratic processes ineducational organizations. Empoylees who are affected negatively by themanagerial decisions may display adversary behaviors. In the study, it was aimedto present the perceptions of the teachers working at public and private schoolslocated in Adapazarı, Serdivan and Erenler districts of Sakarya on causes oforganizational dissent. 573 teachers who worked at schools in Adapazarı,Serdivan and Erenler districts participated in the study. As the data collectiontool, “Causes of Dissent Scale”, a subscale of “Organizational Dissent Scale” wasutilized. In the data analysis, means and standard deviations of the responses tothe scale items were calculated. t-test and One-Way ANOVA were utilized todemonstrate whether the teachers’ perceptions on causes of organizationaldissent showed any significant difference in accordance with different variables.The results of the study indicated that there is no significant difference in theteachers’ percepions on causes of organiational dissent according to gender, age,education level, work experience, marital status, union membership, school size,and managerial experience. On the other hand, it was found out that there is asignificant difference in teachers’ perceptions on causes of organizational dissentin accordance with the perceived management style of school principals. Theresults of the study showed significant difference in teachers’ dissent reasonsaccording to the perceived management style.
