Health Inequities and Covid-19 Pandemic

Öz:
Social determinants of health have an important impact on health inequalities. As a stable rule in countries for all income levels, the lower the socioeconomic status, the health is worse. Appropriately addressing the social determinants of health is fundamental to pro- moting health and reducing longstanding health inequalities. This requires action by all sectors and civil society. Historically, pan- demics have occurred unevenly, with higher rates of infection and death, especially in low-income countries. While the COVID-19 epidemic has brought devastating effects in all areas of life such as economy, social security, education and food all over the world, it has caused health systems to be strained due to both the increase in patient burden and mass casualties. This review aims to discuss the effects of health inequalities on the COVID-19 pandemic.
