Ürünlerinden yararlanılan koşniller (Homoptera: Coccoidea)

Öz:

Coccoidlerden elde edilen cila, mum ve boya maddeleri, eski çağlardan beri insanlar tarafından kullanılmaktadır. Lak veya şellak olarak da isimlendirilen cila; Llaveia spp. (Margarodidae) ve Kerria lacca Kerr (Kerridae)'dan elde edilmektedir. Yumuşak, kokusuz ve erime noktası çok yüksek olan mum ise Ceroplastes spp. ve Ericerus pela (Chavannes) (Coccidae) tarafından salgılanmaktadır. Parlak ve solmayan özellikteki boya maddesi ise Porphyrophora polonica (Linnaeus) (Margarodidae), Kermes ilicis L. (Kermesidae) gibi türlerde de bulunmakla birlikte günümüzde K. lacca Kerr (Kerridae) ve Dactylöpius coccus Costa (Dactylopiidae)'dan elde edilmekte ve ticari olarak üretilmektedir. Bu maddeler geniş ölçüde tekstil, gıda, kozmetik ve tıp gibi çeşitli endüstriyel alanlarda kullanılmaktadır.

The scale insects that as beneficial to human

Öz:

Scale insect products; polish, wax and dye have been used since ancient times. The polish which is also named as "lac" or "shellac" is made from Llaveia spp. (Margarodidae) and Kerria lacca Kerr (Kerridae). The wax which is soft, odourless and has a high melting point is produced from Ceroplastes spp. and Ericerus pela (Chavannes) (Coccidae). One of the bright and fadeless dyestuffs is made from Porphyrophora polonica (Linnaeus) (Margarodidae), Kermes ilicis L. (Kermesidae), Kerria lacca Kerr (Kerridae) and Dactylopius coccus Costa (Dactylopiidae). K. lacca and D. coccus have a trading importance. These materials are being used widely in various industries such as textile, food, cosmetic and medicine.
