Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin etik ilkelerle ilgili görüşleri

Öz:
Bu çalışmada okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin meslek etiği konusu ele alınmıştır. Dünyada başta Amerika Birleşik Devletleri olmak üzere değişik ülkeler okul öncesi eğitimi öğretmenlerine yönelik etik kuralları hazırlamış olmalarına rağmen Türkiye’de henüz okul öncesi öğretmenlerine yönelik bir etik kodlar listesi geliştirilmemiştir. O nedenle bu çalışmada Samsun’dan belirlenmiş 29 okul öncesi öğretmeniyle meslek etiği konusunda bir görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Yarı yapılandırılmış sorular ile yapılan bu görüşmeler sonucunda öğretmenlerin konu ile ilgili görüşleri içerik analizi yöntemiyle gruplandırılmış ve daha sonra araştırmacı tarafından öğretmenlerin görüşleri doğrultusunda bir etik kod listesi geliştirilmiştir. Öğretmenler tarafından söylenen her farklı görüş bir etik kod maddesi olarak listeye eklenip her maddenin yüzde değeri hesaplanmıştır. Böylece Türkiye’deki okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin meslek etik kodlarının bir çatısı oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır.

The opinions of preschool teachers about ethical principles

Öz:
Can we fulfill our responsibilities and obligations while we are working? Today, professional ethics is a necessity for each occupation. As teachers are directly responsible for children’s growth, professional ethics and ethical decision making are important for them. Although many countries, particularly the United States, have prepared ethics codes for preschool teachers, there are none listed for this group in Turkey. In this study, 29 preschool teachers from Samsun, Turkey were interviewed about preschool teachers’ professional ethical principles by using semi-structured questions. Content analysis was used to determine the opinions of the teachers after the interviews, and an ethics code list was prepared. Each diff erent opinion was an item in the list and frequency values were calculated. Th us, the first ethics code framework was created for Turkish preschool teachers.
