TY - JOUR TI - Educational needs of adoptive and foster families regarding their ınfants and toddlers AB - In this study, it was aimed to determine the educational needs and demands of adoptive and foster families regarding their infants and young children, especially in early intervention practices. The participants of the study, which is a qualitative case study, consist of 11 adoptive and foster families (2 fathers, 9 mothers, 2 of them are couples) residing in Ankara. Participants were determined through the Ankara Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor, and Social Services by applying the convenience sampling technique. Semi-structured interview questions were used as data collection tools. The data obtained through focus group interviews were collected under the categories of "Perspective on infancy, view of the relationship between baby and parent, curiosity about infancy, competencies, inadequacies, and difficulties, channels that learn about infancy, suggestions about the content of the training to be given". The research was supported by Ankara Development Agency; and it was carried out within the scope of Güvenli Bebekler Güvenli Yarınlar (The Safe Babies Safe Tomorrow) project, which was conducted by Gazi University in partnership with Ankara Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor and Social Services.
