Can the extra role positive behaviors be predicted by personal and attitudinal factors?

Öz:
Employees show many positive or negative extra role behaviors in the organizational context.Citizenship behaviors of those are positive extra role behaviors that seen as significant for organizationalsuccess and performance. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of personal and attitudinalfactors in predicting the citizenship behaviors in a frame of structural model. The survey was administered tothe 327 bank employees for this study. The data in this study were analyzed with the Structural EquationModeling techniques using Amos 16.0 statistical program. Results indicate that job satisfaction and self efficacy have significant role in predicting the altruism, conscientiousness, sportsmanship, courtesy and civic virtue dimensions of citizenship behaviors. Moreoverjob satisfaction mediates the relationships between self efficacy and all dimensions of citizenship behaviors.Ultimately it was discovered that along with the independent effects of self efficacy as personal factor and jobsatisfaction as attitudinal factor, job satisfaction has a mediator role in predicting extra role positivebehaviors.
