Innovation is based on finding solutions to existing problems. It does not mean necessarily that something is “new”, rather it means improved solutions for user needs. Design and innovation show great similarities at a basic level. If design is defined as the art of problem solving; creative industries always strive to achieve creative and innovative results while considering user needs. For this reason, one of the most basic prospects of design education is to provide students with an innovative, creative and critical perspective. Innovative thinking ability also enhance educational methods, encouraging students to use a higher level of critical thinking to solve problems. The fact that design has a versatile and multi-disciplinary structure makes it necessary to plan the design education in a way that offer this versatility. A student who receives a design education should have the knowledge to take the initiative to realize their ideas as well as their creative ability. Students who graduate from creative industry departments in higher education later often works in multidisciplinary environments; In this study, a course syllabus on the basic concepts of innovative thinking, innovation creation and entrepreneurship has been proposed to be taught in design education in order to provide a basis for their activities in the fields of business, entrepreneurship and marketing. In the research process, literature reviews and document analyzes were made using textual analysis method from primary and secondary sources.
