Dinî Agnostisizm Üzerine Bir Değerlendirme
Öz: Bu çalışmada, insanı ve evreni aşan Tanrı bilinebilir mi, bilinirse ne kadar ve nasıl bilinebilir, bilmeden de inanılabilir mi, Tanrı hakkında konuşulabilir mi, konuşulabilirse nasıl bir dil ile konuşu labilir gibi temel sorular ile ilgilenen Dinî agnostisizmin ne olduğu, gerekçeleri, kabul edilebilir olup olmadığı ya da hangi alanlarda ikna edici, hangi alanlarda da eleştiriye açık olduğu açıklanıp değer lendirilmektedir. Agnostisizm, Tanrı’nın var olup olmadığının bilinemeyeceğini iddia ederek O’nun varlığı ya da yokluğuna inanmayı askıya alır. Dinî agnostisizm ise Tanrı’yı bilmenin insanın bilgi sınırlarını aştığını ancak bu durumun O’na inanmaya engel olmadığını iddia eder. Dinî agnostisizmin söz konusu iddiasını ve onunla yakın bağlantılı olan negatif teolojinin Tanrı hakkında yegâne ko nuşma yolu olarak öne sürdüğü olumsuz dilin Tanrı’ya inanma ve O’nu tanımada ne kadar başarılı olup olamayacağını tartışmayı amaçlamaktayız. Dinî agnostisizm, Tanrı’yı bilmeme ile O’na inanma yı telif etmeye çalıştığı için olumlu görülebilir ancak nasıl bir varlık olduğu bilinemeyen ya da hak kında konuşulamayan bir Tanrı inancı savunusu birçok açıdan sorunludur. Zira Tanrı’nın aşkın, baş ka, mutlak, sınırsız vs. olması ve duyu dünyasındaki herhangi bir şey gibi bilinememesi ya da kavra namaması Tanrı’nın bilinemeyeceği ya da O’nun hakkında sadece olumsuz bir dil kullanılacağı an lamına gelmemelidir. En azından rasyonel çıkarım, tecrübe, his vs. gibi yollar ile O’nun hakkında az da olsa bir şeyler bilmek mümkün hatta zorunludur. Yoksa hakkında hiçbir şey bilinemeyen bir şeye yani belirsizliğe ya da boşluğa inanma gibi bir duruma düşülebilir.
Anahtar Kelime: An Evaluation on Religious Agnosticism
Öz: In this study, religious agnosticism addressing basic questions such as whether it is possible to know God who transcends the humankind and universe, and if so, to what extent and how God can be known, whether it is possible to believe without knowing, or whether one can talk about God and, if so, through what kind of language was explained and evaluated along with the questions asking what grounds religious agnosticism has, whether it is acceptable, or in which areas it is convincing and in which areas it is open to criticism. Agnosticism suspends belief in God's existence or non-existence, claiming that it is not known whether God exists or not. Reli gious agnosticism, suggests that knowing God exceeds the limits of human knowledge but this does not prevent one from believing God. We aim to discuss the aforementioned claim of reli gious agnosticism and whether and to what extent the apophatic language that is introduced as the only way to talk about God by the negative theology, which is closely associated with reli gious agnosticism, can be successful in believing and knowing God. Religious agnosticism may be regarded as a positive approach due to the fact that it tries to reconcile ‘not knowing God’ with ‘believing God’; however, it is problematic in many aspects to support the faith in a God whose kind of existence is unknowable or inexpressible for as much as the fact that God is transcendent, distinct, infinite, etc., and cannot be known or comprehended as any other thing in the world of senses should not mean that God cannot be known or only an apophatic language is to be used for God. It is possible, even imperative to know some things about God, even if just a hint, leastways through the means such as rational inferences, experiences, senses, etc. Otherwise, one may end up believing in obscurity, which is something not recognized at all, or in a void.
