Öz:

Stratejik yönetimle ilgili çalışmalar, stratejik planlama alanında başlamış ve özellikle 1980'lerden sonra işletme stratejilerinin belirlenmesi ve diğer stratejik yönetim teknikleri alanına yönelmiştir. Stratejik yönetim ve stratejik yönetim modeli ile ilgili farklı görüşler bulunmasına rağmen bunlardan hiçbiri tek başına işletmelerin başarılı olmaları için yeterli olmamaktadır. Araştırmalar, işletme yöneticilerinin tek bir stratejik yönetim yaklaşımını seçmeleri yerine, değişik yaklaşımlardan ve süreçlerden yararlanmaları halinde daha iyi sonuçlar aldığını göstermektèdir.Stratejik yönetim modeli, işletmenin sahip olduğu kaynaklar ve yeteneklerle değişen çevre koşullarını uyumlaştırmaya, işletme için en uygun stratejiler ve hedefler belirlemeye çalışan rasyonel bir süreç olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Stratejik yönetim modeli "Neredeyiz", "Nereye Ulaşmak Istiyoruzl" ve "Gitmek İstediğimiz Yere Nasıl Ulaşabiliriz?"sorularına aranan cevaplarla genel değerlendirmenin yapıldığı dört temel aşamadan oluşmaktadır.

Strategy, strategic management and strategic management model

Öz:

Research on strategic management starts with the studies about strategic planning in the 1960s. The focus shifted from strategic planning towards strategic management in the 1980s. In order to sustain competitive advantage, a broad range of concepts and techniques evolved. Researchers have realized the need for a dynamic approach to strategy development because of increasing level of dynamics in competitive environments. There are so many different conceptual frameworks and tools in the area of strategy development. The researches confirm that the managers would get more successful results, when they apply different strategic frameworks and tools.Strategy is defined as a rational decision-making process by which the organization's resources are matched with opportunities arising from the competitive environment. Strategic management model provides a dynamic method for evaluating the success of organizations. Strategic management model has four basic steps. The first three steps answer the questions "Where are we now?" "Where do we want to go?" "How can we go there?" and the last step makes a general evaluation.
