Orhan Pamuk'un yapıtlarında hem fiziksel hem de tinsel anlamda yolculuk temalarına sıklıkla rastlanır. Postmodern yazım tekniklerini kullanarak gerçekçilikten uzaklaşan hayali bir dünya kurgular. Orhan Pamuk’un yapıtlarındaki uzamlar gerçek, somut, mimari olduğu kadar öznel, düşsel ve mitsel öğeler barındırır. Onun romanlarında yolculuk imgesi gerçekle düş, anımsama ile anlam arasında bir arabuluculuk işlevi görür. The journey is a space of emotion in which one moves not only to meet the other and discover the unknown but to find oneself. Contemporary literature is generally interested in the inner world of the human being. The stories invite the reader on spiritual journeys through the unconscious. The theme of journey, whether physical or spiritual, is frequently treated in the works of Orhan Pamuk. In his novels there is a close correspondence between the theme of journey and that of exile even if it is most often a voluntary exile and a journey centered on search, on the quest for something. This article aims to analyze the image of travel in Pamuk's works from two aspects: the mobility of the body in space and spiritual journeys. Pamuk uses themes from the great Mystics and borrows from ancient Eastern and Western texts. By referring to ancient texts he does a kind of rewriting. The author uses the collective unconscious and postmodern writing techniques to produce fiction that moves away from realism and stages an imaginary world. Space at Pamuk is real, material, architectural, but also subjective, imaginary, mythical. The journey in Orhan Pamuk's stories evokes a mediation between the real and the imaginary, between reminiscence and meaning. The journey metaphorizes the imagination and, in a broader sense, the literary dream and the act of describing.
