COVID-19 İLE İLİŞKİLİ FAZLADAN ÖLÜMLERİN TÜRKİYE’DEKİ VE DÜNYADAKİ DURUMUNA BİR BAKIŞ

Öz:
Dünya genelinde COVID-19 pandemisine bağlı gelişen ölüm sayılarının resmi olarak bildirilen ölüm sayılarından oldukça fazla olduğu, Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından Ocak 2020 ile Aralık 2021 yılları arasında yapılan iki yıllık inceleme sonucunda tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada COVID-19’a bağlı bildirilen toplam ölüm sayısının yaklaşık 5,42 milyon olduğu halde, fazladan ölüm sayıları hesaplandığında 14,91 milyon olması gerektiği ortaya konmuştur. Ayrıca DSÖ çalışmasında Türkiye’de COVID-19 nedenli meydana gelen ölümlerin resmi rakamlardan yaklaşık 2,7 kat fazla olduğunu tespit etmiştir. Pandeminin sağlıklı yönetilmesi için COVID-19’a bağlı gelişen ölüm sayılarının doğru ve eksiksiz saptanması ve bildirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu derlemede COVID-19’a bağlı gelişen fazladan ölümlerin ülkemizde ve dünyadaki durumunun gözden geçirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Öz:
It has been determined as a result of a two-year review conducted by the World Health Organization between January 2020 and December 2021 that the number of deaths due to the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide is considerably higher than the number of officially reported deaths. In this study, it was revealed that while the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is approximately 5.42 million, it should be 14.91 million when the extra death numbers are calculated. In addition, the WHO study found that deaths due to COVID-19 in Turkey are approximately 2.7 times higher than the official figures. For the healthy management of the pandemic, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 must be determined and reported accurately and completely. In this review, it is aimed to review the situation of extra deaths due to COVID-19 in our country and in the world.
