TY - JOUR TI - Effects of Different Sulphur Doses on Nutrient Contents of Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) Cultivars AB - This study was carried out to determine the effects of sulphur doses on the nutrient contents of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) cultivars under irrigated conditions in 2011 and 2012 years spring periods. Field trials were conducted at randomized complete block split plot design with three replications on the experimental area of Van Yuzuncu Yıl University, Faculty of Agriculture. As factor, three different sulphur doses (0, 25, 50 kg ha-1) and three safflower cultivar were used. In the study, macro and micro nutrient element contents of safflower seed were investigated. It was determined that wasn’t affected significantly of nutrient element contents such as K, Mg, Zn and Cu except for Ca, Fe and Mn contents of seed by sulphur aplications. In addition, statistically significant differences were found amoung safflower varieties in terms of nutrient content of K, Ca, Fe, Mn and Zn, except for Mg and Cu.
