Doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar-istihdam ilişkisi: Türkiye örneği
Öz: Doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar ile istihdam arasındaki ilişki son otuz yıllık süreçte dış borçlanmanın göreceli olarak önemini yitirmesi ve doğrudan yabancı yatırım kavramının dış finansman kaynakları içinde birincil duruma gelmesi ile Türkiye gibi gelişmekte olan ülkeler için önem kazanmıştır. Bu çalışmada da Türkiye’de 1970- 2009 dönemine ilişkin doğrudan yabancı yatırım-istihdam ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda 1970-2009 dönemine ilişkin işgücü talep fonksiyonunun hesaplanmasında; gayrisafi milli harcamalar, gayrisafi ekonomik büyüme ve doğrudan yabancı yatırım değişkenleri açıklayıcı değişken olarak kullanılmıştır. Yapılan ARDL eşbütünleşme testi ve Hata Düzeltme Modelinin sonuçlarına göre bu konudaki literatür ile paralel olarak Türkiye’ye gelen doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar ile istihdam arasında uzun dönemli ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır. Bu sonuca göre; Türkiye’ye gelen doğrudan yabancı yatırımların işsizliği düşürücü bir etkisi yoktur.

Öz: Over the period of the last 30 years, as external debt has relatively lost ground and foreign investment has become initial in all foreign financing resources, the relationship between foreign direct investment and employment has gain importance for developing countries such as Turkey. In this paper the relationship between foreign direct investment and employment has been analysed. To compute the labour force function demand for 1970-2009 period, the gross national expenditure, gross domestic product and foreign direct investment variables were used for explanatory variables. In accordance with the results of ARDL co-integration tests and Error Correction Model, as well as the literature on the relationship between foreign direct investment and employment in Turkey, there is no long term significant relationship found between foreign direct investment and employment in Turkey, too. Thus, our findings show that foreign direct investment did not have any contribution to reduce employment in Turkey.
