Enfeksiyon hastalıklarının tanısında laboratuvar bulguları

Öz:

Enfeksiyon hastalıkları çocukluk çağında hastane başvurusu ve yatış nedenleri arasında en sık sorumlu nedenlerdir. Özgün tanıda genellikle mikrobiyolojik yöntemler kullanılmaktadır. Özgün olmayan biyokimyasal laboratuvar bulguları da hızlı sonuç sağlayarak tanıyı desteklemede kullanılır. Bu makalede eritrosit sedimentasyon hızı, C-reaktif protein, ve tam kan sayımının enfeksiyon hastalıklarındaki yeri tartışılmıştır.

Öz:

Infectious diseases constitute the major cause of hospital admissions in pediatric age. Microbiological studies usually form the basis of definitive diagnosis for these disorders. Nonspecific biocemistry tests can be obtained quickly, thus they have been used to support the eventual diagnosis. Among biochemical work-up, the role of erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C-reactive protein and complete blood count in the management of infectious diseases have been discussed in this article.
