The environmentalism of university students: Their ethical attitudes toward the environment
Öz: Bu araştırmada, üniversite öğrencilerinin çevreye yönelik etik tutumlarından hareketle çevrecilikleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma, 2007/2008 döneminde çeşitli programlarda öğrenim gören son sınıf öğrencileri (n: 220) üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Veriler, araştırmacı t aralından geliştirilen "Çevre Etiği Ölçe-gi"nin uygulanmasıyla toplanmış ve elde edilen veriler SPSS bilgisayar ortamında uygun istatistiksel teknikler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonunda, katılımcıların çoğunun insanın dışındaki varlıkların araçsal ve içsel değerlerini önemseyen "ılımlı" çevrecilik eğiliminde oldukları belirlenmiştir.

Öz: The study tries to determine the environmentalism of university students based on their attitudes towards the environment. The present study was carried out among 220 senior students studying in various departments in ->007-2008 academic year. The data were collected through an "Environmental Ethics" scale developed by the researcher and were analyzed through proper statistics from SPSS program package. In light of the findings, it can be argued that the participants mostly exhibit a "mild" environmental ism tendency that pays attention to both the instrumental and intrinsic values of non-human entities.
