Türkiye ekonomisinde dışa açıklık ve enflasyon ilişkisi üzerine ampirik bir analiz

Öz:

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de uluslararası ticareteaçıklık derecesi ile enflasyon arasındaki muhte‐ mel ilişki araştırılmıştır. 2000Q1‐2011Q4 arasıçeyrek dönemlik veri setine eş‐bütünleme (koen‐ tegrasyon) ve Vektör Hata Düzeltme Modeli(VHDM) teknikleri uygulanmıştır. Ulaşılan sonuç‐ lara göre, dışa açıklık ile enflasyon serileri eş‐ bütünleme özelliğine sahiptirler. Değişkenlerarasında çift yönlü işleyen bir Granger‐ nedensellik ilişkisi de bulunmaktadır. VektörHata Düzeltme Modeli sonuçlarına göre ise, ikideğişken arasında kısa dönemde ortaya çıkansapmalar uzun dönemde ortadan kalkmaktadır.Yani seriler birlikte hareket etmektedirler.

An emprical analysis on the relationship between openness and inflation in Turkish economy

Öz:

This study investigates the possible relationshipbetween international trade openness andinflation in Turkey. Cointegration and VectorError Correction Model (VECM) techniques areutilized on quarterly data set covering the period2000Q1‐2011Q4. The main findings of the paperare as follows:for the Turkish economy, open‐ ness to international trade and inflation arecointegrated and have bi‐directional Grangercausality relationship. The variables tend toreturn back to their equilibrium level in the longrun, as suggested by the VECM analysis.
