The etiology of anxiety disorders

(Anatolian Journal of Psychiatry 2012; 13:224-231)

Anksiyete bozukluklarının etiyolojisi

Öz:
Anxiety disorders are a growing health problem world-wide. They are very important from point of view of community mental health because they cause functional impairment, decrease quality of life, and have the high comorbidity. Although there are many investigations about the etiology of anxiety disorders, the causative factors, etiology, and underlying mechanisms of anxiety disorders, as for most psychiatric disorders, remain relatively poorly understood. In this article, it has been reviewed that the etiological factors of anxiety disorders such as biological, psychological, Cognitive and Behavioral, and social factors.
