Travma sonrası büyüme: Öldürmeyen acı güçlendirir mi?

Öz:
Travma, gerçek bir ölüm veya ölüm tehdidinin bulunduğu, fiziksel veya yaşamsal bütünlüğe yönelik bir tehdidin ortaya çıktığı ve kişinin mevcut baş etme yöntemleri ile üstesinden gelemediği olağandışı olaylar olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Travmatik olayların olumsuz fiziksel sonuçları olabileceği gibi anksiyete, depresyon, alkol ve madde bağımlılığı, intihar ve travma sonrası stres bozukluğu gibi çeşitli psikolojik sonuçları da olmaktadır. Travmatik olayların olumsuz fiziksel ve psikolojik sonuçları olabileceğine ilişkin oldukça fazla kanıt vardır. Travmanın olumsuz etkileri yoğun bir şekilde incelenirken travmanın olumlu etki olasılığı daha az araştırmaya konu olmuştur. Bununla birlikte travmatik olaylara maruz kalan insanların travmatik olayla mücadelelerinden iyi sonuçlar ortaya çıkabileceğini düşündüren çalışmalar vardır. Çünkü tüm travma sonrası yanıtlar olumsuz olmayabilir. Bu durum travma sonrası büyüme olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Travma sonrası büyümenin olduğu kişilerin özeliklerinin bilinmesi, sağlık alanında travma yaşayanların bu süreçten güçlenerek çıkmasına destek olunmasında önemlidir. Bu derleme travma sonrası büyüme kavramını açıklamak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır.

Post traumatic growth: If Something not killing could be strengthened?

Öz:
Trauma is defined as a real threat of death or death itself, emergence of a threat to the physical integrity of life, and the person can not overcome the existing methods of coping with unusual events. The negative physical consequences of traumatic events can be psychological consequences such as anxiety, depression, alcohol and substance abuse, suicide, and post traumatic disorder. There is overwhelming evidence that traumatic events can produce many negative physical and psychological consequences. Although researchers have extensively studied the negative effects of trauma, there has been much less attention paid to the possibility of the positive impact of negative events. However, there is a body of literature suggesting that people exposed to even the most traumatic events may perceive at least some good emerging from their struggle, because not all posttraumatic responses are negative. This condition is called post traumatic growth. Known properties of individuals with post traumatic growth is the important emergence of stronger support for this process in the field of health care. The current article summarizes concept of post traumatic growth.
