[Current Treatment Strategies for Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections]

Öz:
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most common bacterial infections among all age groups. Three UTI episodes with positive culture results in a one year period are called recurrent UTIs. Recurrent UTIs are common health problems threatening physical and mental health of the individuals in all age groups. Unconscious antibiotic usages lead multi-antibiotic resistant agents. In a multidisciplinary manner the patient must be evaluated if he/she has a genetic, physiological or anatomical disorder. Several current approaches such herbal products and vaccines are increasingly used to avoid antibiotic overuse.
