Contact Lens Related Dry Eye

Öz:
Recent studies estimate the frequency of contact lens related dry eye to be around 50%. Despite the new technological developments in lens industry, dry eye and discomfort are the main reasons for contact lens drop-out. Contact lens use can exacerbate existing dry eye or cause dryness symptoms in a previously healthy patient. In this review, we discuss pathophysiological factors associated with contact lens related dry eye, some important clinical findings and suggestions regarding howto address contact lens discomfort and diminish lens drop-out levels
