ARİSTOTELES'İN DEVİNİM TANIMI
Öz: Aristoteles devinimi "olanaklı olanın olanaklı olan olarak etkinliği" şeklinde tanımlıyor. Bu yazıda önce neden Aristoteles'e döngüsel bir tanım atfetme eğilimine kapılmamamız gerektiğini gösterecek, sonra da devinimin Aristoteles ontolojisindeki yerini saptamaya çalışacağız. Bunların ardından varolanlar (kategoriler) ile varolma tarzları (olanak ve etkinlik) arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyerek Aristoteles'in devinim tanımının nasıl anlaşılması gerektiğini gösterecek ve son olarak da Aristoteles'in devinimi tanımlama çabasının epistemolojik önemine değineceğiz.

ARISTOTLE'S DEFINITION OF MOTION
Öz: Aristotle defines motion as the actuality of a potentiality as such (? ??? ??????? ? ??????? ??????????). In this paper, we shall begin by arguing that it is wrong to ascribe to Aristotle a circular definition of motion. Next, we will try to locate motion in the general scheme of Aristotelian ontology. We shall examine the relationship between the things that are (the categories) and the way that they are (potentiality and actuality) and thereby determine how one should interpret Aristotle's definition of motion. Finally, we will briefly mention the epistemological significance of Aristotle's attempt to provide a definition of motion.
