Investigation of Students and Teacher Candidates to Establish the Relationship Between Simple Harmonic Motion and Uniform Circular Motion

Öz:
Bu çalışmanın amacı lise öğrencilerinin ve fizik öğretmen adaylarının basit harmonik hareket ile düzgün çembersel hareket arasında ilişki kurabilme durumlarını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 12. sınıf 33 lise öğrencisi ve genel fizik derslerini almış olan 52 fizik öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda açık uçlu ve çizim sorularının yer aldığı sekiz soruluk bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmiştir. Ölçme aracından elde edilen veriler doküman analizi yapılarak çözümlenmiştir. Cevapların değerlendirilmesinde, doğru cevap, kısmen doğru cevap, doğru-yanlış cevap, yanlış cevap ve cevapsız kategorilerinden oluşan rubrik kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler öğrencilerin ve öğretmen adaylarının cevaplarının en fazla yanlış cevap kategorisinde toplandığını göstermiştir. Cevapların en fazla yanlış cevap kategorisinde toplanması, öğrencilerin ve öğretmen adaylarının basit harmonik hareket ile düzgün çembersel hareket arasında ilişki kurma konusunda problem yaşadıkları sonucunu ortaya çıkarmıştır

Öğrencilerin ve Öğretmen Adaylarının Basit Harmonik Hareket ile Düzgün Çembersel Hareket Arasında İlişki Kurabilmelerinin İncelenmesi

Öz:
The purpose of this study was to reveal the status of high school students and physics teacher candidates to establish the relationship between simple harmonic motion and uniform circular motion. The study group of the study is composed of 33 high school students from 12th grade and 52 physics teacher candidates who have taken general physics courses. In line with the purpose of the study, a measurement tool that contains eight open-ended and drawing questions was developed. The data obtained from the measurement tool were analyzed by document analysis. In the evaluation of the answers, rubric which is composed of correct answer, partially correct answer, correctwrong answer, wrong answer and unanswered categories were used. The obtained data showed that answers of students and teacher candidates mostly gathered in wrong answer category. The fact that the collection of answers mostly in wrong answer category reveals that students and teacher candidates have problems in establishing a relationship between simple harmonic motion and uniform circular motion
