Management of Medical Emergencies in Pediatric Oncology

Öz:
Pediatric oncologic emergencies are potentially life-threatening acute complications related to primary malignant disease or its treatment. They can be divided in subgroups as metabolic emergencies, neurologic emergencies, thoracal emergencies, gastrointestinal emergencies, urogenital emergencies and febrile neutropenia. Pediatric oncologic emergencies can present with different signs and symptoms. Although basic principles in management of pediatric oncologic emergencies are similar, some discrepancies can be seen in clinical applications in different institutions.
