TÜRKİYE’DE VEJETARYEN/VEGAN OTELLER MÜMKÜN MÜ? KAVRAMSAL BİR TARTIŞMA
Öz: Son yıllarda dünya genelinde vejetaryen/vegan olan kişilerin sayısındaki artışa paralel olarak, vejetaryen/vegan otellerin sayısında da artış yaşanmaktadır. Her ne kadar Türkiye genelinde de vejetaryen ve vegan olanların sayısı her yıl artmakta olsa bile, vejetaryen/vegan otel sayısı aynı oranda artış göstermemektedir. Bu çalışmada, dünyadaki vejetaryen/vegan otellerin ülkelere ve kıtalara göre dağılımları verilerek, Türkiye’de vejetaryen/vegan otellerin mümkün olup olamayacağı üzerine bir tartışma zemini ortaya konulmak istenmektedir. Bu bağlamda, vejetaryenizm ve veganizm kavramları, insanları vejetaryen ya da vegan bir yaşam biçimine yönelten sebepler, Türkiye’de vejetaryen/vegan beslenme konularında kavramsal bir zemin ortaya konularak, konaklama sektörünün vejetaryen/vegan kişileri göz ardı etmesinin altında yatan nedenler söz konusu kavramsal zemin üzerinde tartışılmaktadır.

ARE VEGETARIAN/VEGAN HOTELS POSSIBLE IN TURKEY? A CONCEPTUAL DISCUSSION
Öz: In recent years, in parallel with the increase in the number of vegetarians/vegans, the number of vegetarian/vegan hotels has also increased. Even though the number of vegetarian and vegan have annually increased, the number of the vegetarian/vegan hotels have not evenly increased. In this study, giving the distribution of the world vegetarian/vegan hotels according to countries and continents, it is aimed to reveal a discussion platform about the possibility of vegetarian/vegan hotels in Turkey. In this context, it was revealed a conceptual ground about the concepts of vegetarianism and veganism, the factors that motive to prefer vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, vegetarian/vegan nutrition issues. Thus it was discussed the factors of hospitality industry which ignore vegetarians/vegans on the conceptual ground.
