Metformin İntoksikasyonuna Bağlı Akut Böbrek Yetmezliği: Olgu Sunumu
Öz: Metformin, biguanid bileşikleri grubundan oral bir antidiyabetik ajandır. Metformin ilişkili laktikasidoz, metformin zehirlenmesi olgularında mortalitesi yüksek olan yan etkilerden birisidir. Bizintihar amaçlı aşırı doz metformin alımına bağlı, akut böbrek yetmezliği gelişen ve metilprednizolonile tedavi edilen bir olguyu sunmayı amaçladık. Bu, literatürde hemodiyaliz uygulanmaksızın, pulsemetilprednizolon ile tedavi edilen ilk olgudur.

Acute Renal Failure Due to Metformin Intoxication: Case Report
Öz: Metformin is an oral antidiabetic agent from the group of biguanide compounds. Metformin-related lactic acidosis is one of the adverse effects with high mortality in the cases of metforming poisoning. We aimed to present a case of attempted suicide that developed acute renal failure due to excessive dose of metformin intake, which was treated with methylprednisolone. This is the first case treated with pulse methylprednisolone in the literature without hemodialysis.
