TY - JOUR TI - Pollen analysis of honeys from Hatay/Turkey AB - This study presents pollen analysis of natural honey produced in Hatay province in Turkey. Honey samples werecollected from 15 different localities in 2013 around Hatay and its environs. The pollen analysis was carried out usingmicroscopical analysis. In all 100 taxa belonging to 40 different families were determined. Apiaceae, Asteraceae,Brassicaceae, Fabaceae, Lamiaceae, Poaceae, Rosaceae and Trifolium were the most represented taxa. In honey samples,dominant pollen types were from Fabaceae and Petroselinum crispum while Apiaceae, Asteraceae, Brassicaeae,Fabaceae, Rosaceae, Lamiacea, Lathyrus sp., Erica manipuliflora, Arbutus andrachne, Olea europaea and Citrusaurantium were recorded as secondary taxa. Among the 15 honey samples, only three samples collected from Üçgüllük(H01 honey sample), Kale (H02 honey sample), and Bektaşlı villages (H07 honey sample) were unifloral, because ofhaving only one dominant and trace pollen, others were determined as multifloral honeys. The highest number of pollenwas observed in the samples from Üçgüllük Village (96113 pollen grain).
