TY - JOUR TI - Computational Thinking Test (CTT) for Middle School Students AB - The aim of this research is to develop a valid and reliable paper-pencil test (CTT) that can be used at eighth grade level and measures students' computational thinking skills. Within the scope of the study, the skills of the computational thinking defined in the literature were identified and then the problematic situations which could be measure these skills were established. CTT consists of 10 problem cases in total problem situations have been constructed in connection with subject areas of science and mathematics education programs. The test was sent to five field experts and they were asked to evaluate the construct validity and content validity. Incoming feedbacks were applied to 110 eighth-grade students from a state secondary school. Analysis results that CTT was a valid and reliable (McDonald’s ω = 0,779) test that could measure the computational thinking skills of 8th grade students.
