Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nda Çingeneleri / Romanları Çalışmak ya da İğneyle Kuyu Kazmak
Öz: Çingeneler / Romanlar büyük tarih anlatıları içinde yer edinememiş pek çok toplumsal grupya da topluluktan biridir. Dolayısıyla Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun özellikle erken modern dönemindeÇingeneleri merkeze alan tarihi anlatıları inşa etme amacını güdüyorsak gerek metodolojikgerek kavramsal ve gerek tarih yazınsal zorluklarla baş etmeyi ihtiva eden çetrefilli bir yolculuğaçıkmamız gerekiyor. Dolayısıyla, bu çalışmanın amacı birbiriyle bağlantılı bu zorluklarinbir haritasını çıkarmak ve zaman zaman bu zorluklarla baş etmek için birtakım öneriler sunmaktır.Anlatıyı kolaylaştırmak adına bu zorluklar dört ayrı kategori altında incelenmiştir: “TarihselKaynaklara Dair Zorluklar”, “Kavrama Dair Zorluklar”, “Kuramsal Zorluklar” ve “Historiografikya da Tarih-Yazınsal Zorluklar.”

Approaching Gypsies / Roma in the Ottoman Empire: Problems and Prospects
Öz: Gypsies / Roma are one of many social groups or communities that have been silenced in grand narratives of history. Therefore, if we aim to reconstruct historical narratives that center the experiences of Gypsies in the early modern period of the Ottoman Empire, we must go through a complicated journey involving methodological, conceptual and historiographical challenges. Therefore, the aim of this work is to map out these interrelated challenges and to offer some suggestions to deal with these challenges. In order to facilitate the narrative, these difficulties have been examined under four categories: “Challenges About Historical Sources”, “Conceptual Challenges”, “Theoretical Challenges” and finally “Historiographical Challenges”.
