The Role of Self-Efficacy in the Relationship Between Career Satisfaction and Career Commitment of Employees in Hotel Enterprises

Öz:
This study aims to show whether there is a role of self-efficacy in the relationship between career commitment and career satisfaction of employees in hotel enterprises. In order to determine the career commitment, career satisfaction and self-efficacy of employees in hotel enterprises scales that had been used in similar studies before were made used of. Based on the theoretical foundations obtained as a result of the literature review, a model covering the variables involved in the study was created and analysis results related to the model were examined. Within the scope of the study, convenience sampling method was preferred as a sampling method and a questionnaire was conducted with the employees of five star hotel enterprises in Antalya, which is considered as the tourism centre of Turkey. According to the findings obtained as a result of the questionnaire study, it was determined that employees' career commitment influenced career satisfaction significantly in the linear direction. In addition, self-efficacy levels of employeeshave a moderator impact on the positive relationship between career commitment and career satisfaction. This study, which is the first in the national literature to analyze the three variables together with moderator impact model, mentions the importance of variables of career commitment, self-efficacy and career satisfaction in terms of both employees and businesses.
