TI  - Traditional medicinal plants used for oral and dental diseases in Turkey
AB  - Plants have been utilized to treat a wide range of diseases in Turkey. Dental caries is the most common infectiousdisease affecting humans. This paper was documented traditional knowledge on medicinal plants used to treat oral anddental diseases in Turkey. Pharmacological and phytochemical studies for each species were also reviewed. Accordingto result of this study, 76 medicinal plants belonging to 30 families were reported. Toothache was the disorder treated bythe highest number of species (41 taxa), followed by oral wounds (17 taxa). The most common used medicinal plantspecies was Hyoscyamus niger L.
