DASH Diyeti ve Sağlık Üzerine Etkileri

Öz:
Hipertansiyon, kardiyovasküler hastalıklar için risk oluşturan önemli bir sağlık sorunudur.Hipertansiyonun tıbbi tedavisinin dışında beslenme düzenlenmesini de içeren yaklaşımlar DASH(dietary approaches to stop hypertension) diyetinin ortaya çıkmasına yol açmıştır. Diyet, orta düzeysodyum içeren; basit şeker ve toplam yağdan fakir; protein, posa, potasyum, magnezyum ve kalsiyumdanzengin besinlerin tüketimine dayanmaktadır. Sebze-meyve, tam tahıl, kurubaklagil vebeyaz et tüketiminin artması; kırmızı et, rafine karbonhidrat ve şekerli içecek tüketiminin azaltılmasıönerilmektedir. Bu besinler antioksidan A, C ve E vitaminlerinden zengindir. DASH diyeti hipertansiyonuntedavisi için geliştirilmiş olsa da Tip 2 diyabet ve gestasyonel diyabeti olan hastalardainsülin düzeylerini ve kan lipitlerini; polikistik over sendromlu kadınlarda ağırlık kontrolü, serumtrigliserid düzeyi ve antioksidan kapasiteyi; hastalık öyküsü olmayan sağlıklı bireylerde inflamatuarbelirteç C-reaktif proteini ve antropometrik ölçümleri olumlu etkilediği gösterilmiştir. Bu çalışmada,hipertansiyonun tedavisinde kullanılan DASH diyetinin literatüre kazandırılmış yeni araştırmalarışığında sağlık üzerine etkilerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

The DASH Diet and its Effects on Health

Öz:
Hypertension is an important health problem causing for cardiovascular diseases. Beside medical treatment of hypertension, approaches that include nutritional regulation, has led to the emergence of DASH diet. The diet is based on the consumption of foods containing moderate sodium; poor in simple sugar and total fat; rich in protein, fiber, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Increased consumption of vegetable, fruit, whole grain, legume and white meat and reduced consumption of red meat, refined carbohydrate and sugary beverages is recommended. These nutrients are rich in antioxidant vitamins such as A, C and E. Although the DASH diet was developed for the treatment of hypertension it affects insulin levels and blood lipids of patients with Type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes; weight control, serum triglyceride level and antioxidant capacity of women with policystic over syndrome; inflammatory marker which C-reactive protein and anthropometric measurements in healthy subjects without disease history positively. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effects of DASH diet on health in the light of new studies.
