Breast Cancer, Problems Experienced by Women And Their Partner

Öz:
Breast cancer, women and their partner cause physical and psychosocial problems due to surgery and treatment. Therefore, breast cancer is considered as a “couple” disease and increases the level of stress on both sides of the relationship with partner. In reducing this stress, active participation of the couple in the decision-making process in care and treatment should be ensured. The nurse is an important component of quality care to help patients and their families cope with treatment and symptoms, and provides effective, patient-centered care for women with breast cancer. As a result, the nurse needs to focus on double-based initiatives to find solutions to the psychosocial problems experienced by women with breast cancer, and to support partners to develop appropriate coping strategies to help manage problems. The aim of this study was to investigate the problems of couples, the management of these problems and the role of the nurse as a result of breast cancer.
