TY - JOUR TI - Computer Adaptive Testing Simulations in R AB - Computer adaptive testing is an important research field ineducational measurement, and simulation studies play a critically importantrole in CAT development and evaluation. Both Monte Carlo and Post Hocsimulations are frequently used in CAT studies in order to investigate theeffects of different factors on test efficiency and to compare different testdesigns. Although there are several softwares for CAT simulations, R ispreferred since it includes many free packages and gives researchersopportunity to write their own functions according to their ownrequirements besides being free. The purpose of this study is to make anintroduction and demonstration of how to use catR package in CATsimulations. Different examples were provided in the context of this studyand R codes were presented with explanations. Then, the output files werebriefly explained. It is thought that this paper is helpful for the researcherswho are interested in CAT simulations.
