EVALUATION OF PERSONAL MOBILITY VEHICLE CONCEPT DESIGNS BY USING ANALYTICAL HIERARCHY AND ANALYTICAL NETWORK PROCESSES

Öz:
This study aims to introduce two evaluation methods into industrial design by using a case study in whichseveral personal transportation vehicle designs are evaluated. The methods are the Analytical HierarchyProcess (AHP) and Analytical Network Process (ANP). For their application, first the evaluation criteriaare determined, their interior relations are investigated and then the alternatives are listed. The evaluationis done according to the criteria by using method specific tools. Interviews are done with participatingdesigners to gather data. The performance rankings of the five vehicle alternatives are obtained. Results arelisted descending from high to low, showing the success levels of the designs, pointing to the best one.Finally the findings obtained from two methods are explained comparatively.

Öz:
Bu çalışma, çeşitli kişisel ulaşım araç tasarımlarının değerlendirildiği bir durum çalışması kullanarak iki farklı değerlendirme yöntemini endüstriyel tasarımı disiplinine uyarlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Yöntemler, Analitik Hiyerarşi Süreci (AHS) ve Analitik Ağ Süreci (AAS)'dir. Uygulamada öncelikle değerlendirme ölçütleri belirlenmiş, ölçütler arası ilişkiler araştırılmış ve tasarım alternatifleri listelenmiştir. Sonrasında belirlenen ölçütler ve yönteme özgü araçlar kullanılarak alternatifler değerlendirilmiştir. Veri toplama sürecinde çalışmaya katılan tasarımcılarla görüşmeler yapılmış ve tasarım alternatiflerinin ölçütler açısından puanlanması istenmiştir. Puanlama ile elde edilen verilerin işlenmesi sonucunda beş tasarım alternatifinin performans sıralamaları elde edilmiş ve daha ileri seviye geliştirme ve üretime en uygun tasarım alternatifi belirlenmiştir. Son olarak, iki yöntemden elde edilen bulgular incelenmiş ve karşılaştırmalı olarak açıklanmıştır.
