TY - JOUR TI - Determination of Pravastatin Drug Formulation by Squarewave Voltammetry on Glassy Carbon Elektrode AB - The electrochemical behavior of Pravastatin, a lipid-lowering drug, on a glassy carbon electrode wasexplored in Britton-Robinson buffer by using cyclic and square-wave voltammetry. Cyclicvoltammetric studies indicated that the compound underwent irreversible oxidation, which was adiffusion-controlled process. Using square-wave voltammetry, Pravastatin could be determined at+1.24 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) in the concentration range 2.4×10-7-2.8×10-6 M at pH 2.0, with a detectionlimit of 5.0×10-8 M. The suggested method was successfully applied for the assay of Pravastatin intablets.
