DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION SCENARIOS OF BUSINESSES - A CONCEPTUAL MODEL PROPOSAL

Öz:
The entire world economy and the businesses involved in it are closely affected by digital transformation, which comes to the agenda through the possibilities of digital technologies like big data, sensors, cloud computing, social media etc. in recent years. Digital transformation, which means a more comprehensive digitalization than all the former digitalization attempts, leads to disruptive changes within businesses and transforms their business models, customer relationships, and all organizational operations and structures. To manage this disruptive change in businesses, a comprehensive digital transformation strategy must be developed and a roadmap drawn up. Current digital transformation roadmaps or process models address digital transformation in businesses either very generally or focus only on a single digital transformation scenario. This work aims to cover this deficiency and to help businesses develop comprehensive digital transformation strategies by identifying different digital transformation scenarios. In this study, a conceptual model is proposed showing the different digital transformation scenarios in businesses in the light of the information obtained from literature analysis. The conceptual model deals with business model, business process and organizational transformation of companies which are triggered by six different drivers.
