Öz:

Bu araştırmada okul öncesi döneme yönelik olarak Türkçe dilinde yayınlanmış ve ölüm konusunu elealan çocuk kitaplarının incelenmesi hedeflenmektedir. Veriler ölümü konu alan ve belirli kriterlerkapsamında seçilen ikisi bilgilendirici, on ikisi resimli olmak üzere toplam 14 çocuk kitabındantoplanmıştır. Bu nitel araştırma çerçevesinde içerik analizinden faydalanılmıştır. Çocuk kitaplarıaraştırmacı tarafından Word ortamında yazılmış ve analiz bu işlemci üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir.Analiz sonucunda ele alınan kitapların akraba ve evcil hayvan kaybına yönelik olarak kullanılabileceğigörülmüştür. Kitaplarda ölümün bileşenlerinden en çok nedensellik ve yaşamın sona ermesi bileşenikapsamında yer alan işlevsizlik ile ilgili ögelere yer verilmiştir. En az bahsedilen öğe ise öngörülmezlikbileşenidir. Kitaplarda ölüm karşısında çocukların en sık gösterdiği tepkiler üzüntü ve özlemdir. Analizedâhil edilen kitaplar ölüm ile karşı karşıya kalan çocuklar ile çalışırken bibliyoterapi tekniğindenfaydalanan ruh sağlığı uzmanları için faydalar sağlayacaktır.

Death and Bibliotherapy: Content Analysis of Books to be Used with Pre-school Children

Öz:

. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the books aimed at pre-school children which were published in Turkish language, with the common theme “death”. Data has been collected from 14 children books in total- 2 informative and 12 picture books- which were selected according to certain criteria. Content analysis has been used for this qualitative research. The books included within the analysis have been written and saved as a Word file, and the whole analysis has been conducted on it. As a result of the analysis it is possible to confer that these books can be used within the bibliotherapy technique not only in cases of the death of a close relative, but also that of a pet. The most commonly referred components of death are causality and non-functionality which are sub-components of finality. The least mentioned component of death is unpredictability. The most common reactions of children observed in these books are sadness and longing. The books which are covered within this analysis provide certain benefits for the mental health experts who work with children facing death
