EVALUATION OF PERCEIVED USABILITY OF ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Öz:
Electronic document management systems (EDMS) are preferred and used in many organizations. With the digitalization of business processes, the extent to which users can adapt to the new system is important. Therefore, the degree of usability of the system is important for the users to adopt the system. So this study aims to explain the cognitive ergonomics of the system by revealing the interaction of individuals with EDMS. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of EDMS features on perceived usability and the degree of acceptance of the system. In this study, the effects of the characteristics of the system on perceived usability and the effects of perceived usability on the intentions to use were investigated within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model. A survey was conducted on university employees who use EDMS. According to results, system functionality, system response and user interface design have significant and positive effects on perceived usability. It is observed that the system interaction has not affect the perceived usability. It has been shown that the systematic features of EDMS are important in terms of perceived usability and acceptance of the system.
