Çevresel Davranış ve Çevre Eğitimi: Üniversite Öğrencileri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Öz:
Çevre konusundaki bilgi eksikliği çevre yanlısı davranışların ve çevre yanlısıörgüt kültürünün oluşmasındaki en büyük engellerden biridir. Çevresel farkındalık,çevresel davranışın açıklanmasında önemli bir belirleyicidir. Bu çalışma, “ÇevreselDavranış - Çevre Eğitimi” eğilimini üniversite öğrencileri üzerinden anlamayıhedeflemiştir. Bu bağlamda nitel olarak yapılması planlanan araştırma, COVİD-19Pandemisinin gerektirdiği kısıtlar nedeniyle nicel bir yöntem ile çevrimiçi yapılmıştır.Evreni 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim döneminde Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi İktisadive İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi bölümünde eğitim görenöğrenciler olup, ilgili evrenden toplam 211 öğrenciye ulaşılarak, çevresel davranışeğilimleri ve bu davranışın eğitim ile ilişkisi araştırılmak istenmiştir. Öğrencilerincinsiyeti, çevre dersini alıp almama durumu ve anne ve babalarının mesleklerininçevresel davranış eğiliminde etkili olamadığı ancak anne-babanın eğitimi ileöğrencilerin çevresel davranış eğilimi arasında olumlu bir ilişki olduğu tespitedilmiştir.

Öz:
Lack of knowledge about the environment is one of the greatest obstacles in formation of environment-friendly behaviors and environment-friendly organizational culture. Environmental awareness is an important determinant in explaining environmental behavior. This study aimed to understand “Environmental Behavior – Environment Education” tendencies over university students. In this context, the study which had been planned qualitatively was carried out online with a quantitative method due to the restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The population consisted of students enrolled in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Süleyman Demirel University in the academic year of 2019-2020, whereas a total of 211 students were reached from the population, and it was aimed to investigate environmental behavior tendencies and the relationship between this behavior and education. It was determined that the gender of students, whether they took the environmental course and their parents’ professions were not effective in environmental behavior tendency, but there was a positive relationship between parents’ education and students’ environmental behavior tendency.
