TY - JOUR TI - ANALYTICAL INVESTIGATION of CURVATURE DUCTILITY of REINFORCED CONCRETE COLUMNS AB - In this study; the effect of axial load, longitudinal reinforcement diameter, transversereinforcement diameter and transverse reinforcement spacing were investigated on the moment curvaturerelationships of reinforced concrete columns. Reinforced concrete columns having different geometrieswere designed considering the regulations of Turkish Building Earthquake Codes (2018). Investigationsof the effect of axial load, longitudinal reinforcement diameter, transverse reinforcement diameter andtransverse reinforcement spacing on the behavior of the concrete columns are the main purpose of thisstudy. The behavior of the columns was investigated from the moment-curvature relation, by consideringthe nonlinear behavior of the materials taken into account. The moment-curvature relationships of thereinforced concrete column cross-sections having different axial load levels have been obtained byconsidering Mander model which considers the lateral confined concrete strength. The examined effectsof the parameters on the column behavior were evaluated in terms of curvature ductility and the momentcapacity of the cross-section. In the designed column cross-sections, different parameters effecting themoment-curvature relationships were calculated and compared. It is observed that the variation of theaxial load, longitudinal reinforcement diameter, transverse reinforcement diameter and transversereinforcement spacing have an important effect on the moment-curvature behavior of the reinforcedconcrete columns.
