Competitive abilities of the entomopathogenic nematodes Steinernema feltiae and heterorhabditis bacteriophora in the same host at different temperatures

Entomopatojen nematodlar, Steinernema feltiae ve Heterorhabditis bacteriophora'nın Türk ırklarının etkinlikleri Tenebrio molitofun son dönem larvalarına karşı değerlendirilmiştir. Her bir nematodun tek başına Tenebrio molitor larvalarında ortaya çıkardığı ölüm oranları bulunmuştur (deneme I). Daha sonra aynı yöntemle türlerin rekabette birbirleri üzerine olan etkileri incelenmiştir (deneme II). Her iki deneme de steril kumda 12, 18 ve 25 °C'de ve 5 günde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deneme l'de türlerin etkinliği 12 °C'de H. bacteriophora için % 52,5 ve S. feltiae için % 85; 18 °C'de H. bacteriophora ve S. feltiae için sırasıyla % 93,5 ve % 95,6 ve 25 °C'de her iki tür için de % 97,5 olarak bulunmasına rağmen deneme H'de H. bacteriophora ve S. feltiae için sırasıyla 12 °C'de % 3 ve % 72; 18 °C'de % 8 ve-% 85 ve 25 °C'de % 12,5 ve % 80 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlar S. feltiae'nm üç farklı sıcaklıkta ve her iki nematod birlikte uygulandığında H. bacteriophora üzerinde önemli derecede baskın bir tür olduğunu göstermektedir.

Steinernema feltiae ve Heterorhabditis bacteriophora entomopatojen nematodlarının farklı sıcaklıklarda aynı konukçu içerisinde rekabet yetenekleri

The effectiveness of Turkish strains of the entomopathogenic nematodes Steinernema feltiae and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora on the last instar larvae of Tenebrio molitor were investigated. Mortality rates of T. mo/itor larvae caused by each nematode species alone (experiment I) were determined. Then, with the same method, the effectiveness of each species over the other in competition was examined (experiment II). Both experiments were conducted in sterilesand at 12, 18 and 25 °C for 5 days. While in experiment 1 the efficiency of the species was determined to be 52.5% for H. bacteriophora and 85% for S. feltiae at 12 °C, 93.5% and 95.6% at 18 °C for H. bacteriophora and S. feltiae, respectively, and 97.5% at 25 °C for both species, in experiment 11 these rates were 3% and 72% at 12 °C; 8% and 85% at 18 °C and 12.5% and 80% at 25 °C for H. bacteriophora and S. feltiae, respectively. The results indicated that S. feltiae was noticeably dominant over H. bacteriophora when both species were applied together at 3 different temperatures.
