ENFLASYON- EKONOMİK BÜYÜME İLİŞKİSİ: TÜRKİYE EKONOMİSİNDE MUNDELLTOBIN ETKİSİNİN ANALİZİ

ENFLASYON- EKONOMİK BÜYÜME İLİŞKİSİ: TÜRKİYE EKONOMİSİNDE MUNDELLTOBIN ETKİSİNİN ANALİZİ
Öz: Bu çalışmada, Türkiye ekonomisi için enflasyon ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki analiz edilmiştir. Mundell-Tobin etkisiolarak adlandırılan yaklaşıma göre; ekonomide enflasyon oranlarının arttığı dönemlerde, elde para tutmanın maliyeti deartmaktadır. Dolayısıyla, bireyler reel gelir düzeylerini korumak amacıyla sermaye birikimine yönelecek ve bu durumda dayatırımların artmasıyla ekonomik büyüme pozitif yönde artış gösterecektir. Çalışmada, bu ilişkiyi test etmek amacıyla, 1980-2016 dönemleri için enflasyon oranı, gayri safi sabit sermaye yatırımları ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi ARDL sınır testi yöntemiile araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, enflasyonun arttığı dönemlerde ekonomik büyümenin azaldığı gözlenmiştir. Busonuçlara göre; Türkiye’de 1980- 2016 dönemleri arasında Mundell- Tobin etkisi geçerli değildir.

Öz: In this study, the relationship between inflation and economic growth have been analyzed for Turkey economy. According to as called Mundell-Tobin effect; cost of holding money increases, when inflation rates increase in the economy. Hence, individuals tend to hold capital stock in order to keep real level of income and in the circumstances economic growth increase with increased level of investment. In the study, with the aim of testing the relationship between inflation rate, gross fixed capital formation and economic growth have been investigated by Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model for the period 1980-2016. According to the findings, it has been observed that economic growth has been decreased, during the period of rising inflation. According to these results, Mundell-Tobin effect is not valid between 1980-2016 period in Turkey.
