TI  - ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY ISTANBUL MEDICAL FACULTY DEFICIENCY AND SOLUTION PROPOSALS DETECTED IN FORENSIC PATIENTS ADMITTED TO A TRAUMA AND EMERGENCY SURGERY OUTPATIENT CLINIC
AB  - ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to evaluate the forensic reports prepared in the 24-hour Trauma and EmergencySurgery Policlinic at Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty Hospital within the framework of circulars,guidelines, medical approaches and medical ethicsand to discuss the standardization of forensic reportsin this context.Material and MethodsForensic cases and forensic reports of adult and pediatric patients admitted to Istanbul University, IstanbulMedical Faculty Trauma and Emergency Surgery Clinic between 01.07.2014-30.06.2017 were evaluated.Results4964 forensic reports of 21500 patients admitted toIstanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty Traumaand Emergency Surgery Outpatient Clinic between01.07.2014-30.06.2017 were evaluated. In the forensic reports, 39.5% traffic accident was the first, blunttraumatic action with 31.2% and stab wounds werethe third with 9%. In the evaluation for the application;96.6% stated the application date and 95.2% statedthe application time, but only 5.5% stated the application. Although 88.3% of the forensic reports includedin the study stated the date of the event and 81.3%of the time, only 12.9% of the cases had a history ofthe event.ConclusionThe fact that the forensic report is in compliance withlegal standards causes the justice system to functionquickly and accurately. We believe that by adding theamendments made to the basic laws and regulationsto the training programs of physicians in this field, andby conducting these trainings periodically, the forensic reports prepared in the Trauma and EmergencySurgery Policlinic of our University will reduce the errors and that the forensic reports can be arranged inaccordance with the standards.
