COVID-19 Pandemisi Döneminde Tele-Diş Hekimliği

Öz:
Çin’de ortaya çıkan yeni koronavirüs hastalığı-2019 [corona virus disease-2019 (COVID-19)], dünya geneline yayılmış ve birçokinsanın enfekte olmasına veya hayatını kaybetmesine neden olmuştur.Bu hastalığın yayılımı, damlacık veya yüz yüze temas yoluyla olduğuiçin hastalar, diş hekimleri ve çalışanları arasında çapraz enfeksiyonlahastalığın bulaşma riski yüksektir. Son dönemde teknolojinin ilerle mesiyle ortaya çıkan teletıp uygulamaları; hastalıkların teşhisi, teda visi, takibi ve önlenmesi gibi birçok konuda uzaktan erişim olanağı sağlar. Tele-diş hekimliği ise ağız-diş sağlığının iyileştirilmesi ama cıyla ağız-diş bakımı, konsültasyon, eğitim ve toplumun bilinçlendiril mesi için sağlık bilgi teknolojisi ve telekomünikasyon sistemlerininkullanıldığı, teletıp uygulamalarının bir dalıdır. Tele-diş hekimliğininavantajları, hızlı olarak elde edilen hasta verilerinin uzaktan kontroledilebilmesi ve kayıt altına alınması, birçok kişiyle eş zamanlı görüşü lebilmesi, uzun vadede maliyetin ve sağlık hizmetlerinde eşitsizliklerinazaltılmasıdır. Bununla birlikte, uzaktan yapılan bu uygulamalar sıra sında fiziksel muayene yapılamaması, elde edilen bilgi kalitesinindüşük olabilmesi, veri güvenliğiyle ilgili sorunların oluşabilmesi, bazı yasal sorunların meydana gelebilmesi, sistemin kurulmasının maliyetliolabilmesi ve internet erişimindeki problemler gibi dezavantajları mev cuttur. Tele-diş hekimliği, son yıllarda gelişen bir konu olduğu için eldeedilen veriler sınırlıdır. Bu derlemede, COVID-19 pandemisi sırasındatele-diş hekimliğinin uygulama alanları, avantajları, dezavantajları vebu süreçte tele-diş hekimliğinin geliştirilebilmesi için yapılan önerilersunulmuştur.

The novel coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) thatemerged in China has spread worldwide and caused many people tobecome infected or die. Since the spread of this disease is by dropletor face-to-face contact, there is a high risk of transmitting the diseaseby cross-infection between patients, and dental personnel.Telemedicine applications, which have emerged with the advance ment of technology in the last period, provide remote access to manyissues such as diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of dis eases. Tele-dentistry, on the other hand, is a branch of telemedicineapplications, where health information technology and telecommuni cation systems are used to improve oral-dental health, oral-dentalcare, consultation, education, and public awareness. The advantagesof tele-dentistry are the ability to remotely control and record patientdata obtained remotely, be able to contact many people simultane ously, reduce costs in the long-term, and reduce inequalities in healthcare. However, there are disadvantages such as the inability to per form a physical examination, low quality of information obtained,problems related to data security, some legal problems, costly instal lation of the systems, and problems in internet access during these re mote applications. Since telemedicine is a developing subject inrecent years, the data obtained are limited. In this review, the appli cation areas, advantages, disadvantages of tele-dentistry during theCOVID-19 pandemic, and suggestions for improving tele-dentistryin this process are presented.
