Vaccine Hesitancy and Parents Attitudes

Öz:
The concept of vaccine has been seen as an important part of human life since the last century. It plays an active role in humanhealth in the prevention and treatment stages of diseases. The contents and substances used in the formation of vaccines are notapproved by some individuals, and even vital vaccines are not preferred. Vaccine hesitancy is becoming more and morecommon in various societies. In particular, parents refuse to vaccinate their children, who are very vulnerable to diseases. Theseattitudes of parents vary according to the contents of vaccines, individuals' preferences, educational status, geography, perception of society and social effects. For this reason, some people or communities argue that vaccination is a wrong practice.Of particular note among these individuals and communities are the parents. Parents evaluate the initiatives that can be appliedfor the health of their children and make the decision themselves. According to this situation, the children of parents who arehesitant about vaccination are deprived of vaccination even if it is of vital importance. As a result of parents' hesitance aboutvaccination, serious diseases are seen in children who are not vaccinated. These diseases can cause not only individual but alsosocial health problems. In this regard, individuals working in the health sector should be very careful and informative aboutvaccination
