TY - JOUR TI - Vulvar Fibroadenoma: An Unusual Cause of VulvarMass AB - A 21-year-old nulliparous woman was admitted to ourhospital with a 6-month clinical history of vulvar mass.Physical examination revealed a painless, pedunculated,nodular mass on the right labia major. The mass was ex cised. Macroscopic examination revealed that the lesionwas 5.4 × 4.8 × 3.9 cm in dimension and completely cov ered with skin. Serial sectioning revealed a homogeneous,lobulated, and white cut surface (Fig. 1a). Microscopicexamination revealed that the lesion comprised numer ous different-sized ducts embedded in a loose collagenousstroma. The ducts had dual layers, including the inner epi thelial and outer myoepithelial layers (Fig. 1b). No stromalovergrowth, hypercellularity, or increased mitotic activitywas identified. Immunohistochemical staining revealedluminal epithelial cells positive for GATA3 and the estro gen receptor (Fig. 1c). The case was diagnosed as vulvarfibroadenoma arising in the right labia major. Written in formed consent was obtained from the patient.
