Background/aim: To investigate the utility of preoperative serum cancer antigen 125 (CA 125) levels in type 1 endometrial carcinoma (EC) as a marker for determining poor prognostic factors and survival. Material and methods: All patients with endometrial cancer, who had been treated between 2012 and 2020, were retrospectively reviewed, and finally, 256 patients with type 1 endometrium carcinoma were included in the study. The relationship between the clinicopathological characteristics, CA 125 level, and survival rates were analyzed. The cut-off value for the preoperative serum CA 125 level was defined as 16 IU/L. Results: The median serum CA 125 levels were significantly higher in patients with deep myometrial invasion, lymph node metastasis, lymphovascular space invasion, cervical stromal and adnexal involvement, advanced stage, positive peritoneal cytology, recurrence, and adjuvant therapy requirement. Serum CA 125 cut-off values determined according to clinicopathologic factors ranged from 15.3 to 22.9 IU/L (sensitivity 61%–77%, specificity 52%–73%). The disease-specific survival rate was significantly higher in patients with CA 125 levels < 16 IU/L (P = 0.047). Conclusion: The data showed that choosing a lower threshold value for the CA 125 level (16 IU/L) instead of 35 IU/L, could be more useful in type 1 EC patients with negative prognostic factors.Key words: Cancer antigen 125 (CA 125), cut-off value, endometrial carcinoma, prognosis, survival

This study, in which the articles on religious education published in academic journals are analyzed, covers the years between 1925 and 2020. 2081 articles published in the said date range were identified. 60 of these articles are in the journals of the faculty of divinity, and 144 of them are published in other journals in the field of social sciences. The research is a bibliometric analysis study based on content analysis/document review. It is a qualitative study in which data is interpreted through numerical analysis. Some of the results reached in the study are: Article publications have increased significantly after the 2000s, especially in the last two years. The annual average of publications for the last five years is 125. The journal with the highest number of religious education articles is the Diyanet Ilmi Dergi with 172 articles. 40% of the methods used in these articles are empirical and 60% are based on literature review. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in empirical methods, especially in qualitative studies. The subject network of the articles is quite wide and mostly concentrates on the field of formal religious education. More than 10% of the articles are co-authored works. Co-authored studies, which have developed in recent years, are mostly preferred in studies based on empirical methods. Two-authored articles constitute the majority of such studies. The majority of the articles were written by Religious Education Academicians, and some of them were written by researchers working in different fields of theology and other social sciences. Although the rate of writing in a foreign language has increased, it is not at a sufficient level.
