TY - JOUR TI - Fighting Against COVID-19 with One Health Concept AB - The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is still ongoing worldwide, with an impact on almost all nation al health services and economies (1, 2). The emerging pandemic has revealed the inability and deficiencies ofgovernments and health systems; therefore, the urgent need to implement a “one-health” approach has beenemphasized by many authorities. Current findings suggest that the etiological agent of COVID-19 originated frombats and infected humans directly or with involvement of other reservoir host species, such as pangolin, in a wetmarket in Wuhan, China, where proper hygiene practices had not been maintained and different kinds of liveanimals were kept together. From this scenario, it is clear that a one-health approach is missing and should beestablished within public health and veterinary services with the involvement of researchers, academicians, andpractitioners from both sides.
