TY - JOUR TI - Orbital Abscess in a Child: A Dangerous Complicationof Rhinosinusitis AB - A 7-year-old boy was referred because of swell ing on the left orbit and visual loss. He had thesesymptoms for five days. He had 39.4°C fever andpurulent rhinorrhea. There were exophthalmos,chemosis, and conjunctival hyperemia on the lefteye (Fig. 1). There was no eye movement to anydirection. The left pupil was unresponsive to di rect and undirect light stimuli. Visual acuity wasevaluated as 4/10. Nasal mucosa was edematousand hyperemic. There was purulent discharge inthe middle meatus endoscopically. The computedtomography (CT) imaging revealed the left orbit al abscess along with pansinusitis on the left side.
