TY - JOUR TI - The Management of a Difficult Case: a Suicide Attempt by the Ingestion of Multiple Drugs by a Pregnant woman with Epilepsy AB - The risk of suicide attempt in patients with epilepsy is higher than in the general population. Psychiatric diseases can be seen in patients with epilepsy. It is also known that antiepileptic drugs may have an increased risk of suicide attempts. However, it is thought that suicide attempts should not be attributed to just psychiatric diseases and antiepileptic drugs. It has been reported that the rate of suicide attempts is also higher in patients with epilepsy without psychiatric diseases. Suicide attempts during pregnancy are less common than in other periods. This article presents 28-weeks pregnant women with epilepsy who had taken high-dose multidrug for suicide attempt and the management and treatment of the patient. Rarely, an alteration of consciousness in pregnant women with epilepsy may be a result of suicide attempt.
